LITTER UPDATE. 8th June 2025

Bonnie's motherhood journey has begun! Bonnie carried only three little golden babies...not quite what the early ultrasound predicted...I know they are never 100% correct but this was a surprise.

Bonnie has 2 boys and 1 girl. These puppies are huge and strong. The babies were delivered by caesar early on Sunday, the

8 th of June, when Bonnie failed to go into labour on the 7th...her due date.

Bonnie has come through the surgery with flying colors but as you can see in the photos is a little glassy eyed atm but is eating and drinking well. We will literally be sitting in the whelping box with her until she recovers fully and starts to bond with her little squirmers.

I will contact everyone on the waiting list after we have all fully recovered, in the coming days.

The parents of each litter have been hip/elbow scored, have clear eye certificates and a healthy heart certificate, all available for you to view.

Puppies go home with a pedigree certificate, vet health check and proof of vaccination card, a microchip and a puppy information pack that includes; food, diet sheets, weight chart and loads of tips on raising and training a healthy and well adjusted pup.  Free Petplan Health Insurance coverage for six weeks.

Our puppies are one week old today. What an amazing transformation has taken place this last week for our Bonnie Girl, now a mother. She has accepted and really bonded with her babies. Although she still has her stitches in from the caesar, she is quite well and happy wagging her tail and enjoying being outside  for short times with the other girls in the sun. And of course she still loves her food. Bonnie is on a high calcium diet of eggs, cheese, sardines, chicken necks, cooked chicken, rice and her Royal Canin kibble... and she eats anything else that comes her way!

Bonnie's babies have pretty much doubled their birth weights, and are now all over 1 kilo, which is very pleasing. The puppies cannot see or hear at this stage of their development but use their noses to search out their Mum's milk supply. They are very strong as they drag their little one kilo bodies around the whelping box. When puppies are born they have pink noses and pads on their feet...have a look at the photos this week to see how they have changed colour.

Welcome to our new puppy families. I will contact everyone about doing a facetime in the next few days

June 22nd,2025

Our puppies are 2 weeks old today. Once again they have shown amazing weight gain almost trippling their birth weight with all three just shy of 2 kilos! They are very contented and I hardly hear a sound from them...just a few squeaks when Bonnie gets into the whelping box to feed them...and then the glug glug as they drink their milk. Bonnie feeds about every 2 hours around the clock and spends a lot more time out of the whelping box. Bonnie's stitches are out and although we still take her out on a lead to toilet she is keen to get off and run up to the cows and bark at them...hence the lead for a little longer until her internal stitches have dissolved.

Our puppies eyes have opened a little in the corners but they are still not hearing as I noticed no movement when I vaccuumed around them today. Although the puppies can move around the box and are trying to take weight on their legs, they are finding that carrying so much weight makes it harder. You may notice in today's photos a yellow piece of egg crate foam in the whelping box. This is their exercise yard with uneven surface it has a better grip to assist them in the' learning to walk phase'. Puppies have had their sharp little nails trimmed to make it more comfortable for Bonnie when she is feeding them. Today the pups had their first worming tablet...the puppies will receive a tablet every 2 weeks until they go home.

It has been just lovely to meet the families that have done a Facetime. Please send through the family details as requested in the first offer email. I need these details for Free 6 week Insurance, Dog's Vic records, Microchips and my own records. Don't worry about choosing a name atm...we can disclose that our big pink collared girl is called Nellie.

June 29th, 2025

Three weeks old today, our puppies have again stacked on the weight and range from 2.2 kilos to 2.5 kilos  This is a good thing as it means that they are very contented and quiet but they have been slow to walk as they carry too much weight for their little legs to support...this does not happen when you have a lot more puppies as there is lots of competition for milk so they move around at an earlier age...However they seem to be trying to walk a little more now that their eyes are open and I have introduced toys and towels as well as the egg crate foam into the whelping box for them to have to exert a little more energy and use their muscles crawling over everthing to get to Mum! I will try and send out a video this week of these attemps to walk for your amusement!

Tomorrow is the big day for our puppies to move from the lounge room to the ouside puppy house. This is a little earlier than usual but with Yarra's litter due in a few days both mothers need their privacy and space. And hopefully our 3 chubbers will enjoy more area to exercising in than just the whelping box. The outside puppy house has all the comforts of a home with heating and  cooling (not needed atm) Bonnie will come and go from this area as she wants ...going in only to feed and then out to play, during the day...but will sleep with her babies at night. The puppies' teeth are about to erupt from their gums as they get ready for some solid food... in the meantime, they enjoy chewing/ mouthing each other !

July 6th, 2025

Four weeks old today. It has been a momentous week for everyone! The weather has been fantastic except for Yarra's delivery day but for Bonnie's babies it has meant being out in the sunshine and learning what grass is!  It was fun to see how nervous they were in the beginning of this new big wide world.  And even Bonnie looked concerned about her little ones being out of the whelping box and allowed to roam free in the world. However, as the days wore on everone became a little more confident. And then there was the new experience of the outside puppy house with music from the radio, the noise of the reverse cyle heating and the cd of de sensitizing sounds... all new

A few little soft toys have been introduced and they have started to play with them and each other. The puppies' teeth are through and I will start offering them some 'mush' this week and see if they will eat it...Usually puppies jump at the food offered but these little guys are so well fed by Bonnie and the lack of competition for milk I may have a bit of a battle. This week I will start to wean Bonnie slowly spacing out the time that she spends with them so that her milk starts to wane and the puppies will be hungry...but with an average of 3.5 kilos I might have a challenge on my hands. I am hoping that my trusted travelling vet of over 30 years will come later in the week to microchip the pups and have a first little health check before Vaccinations and the official health at 6 weeks. I will send in the reistration form to Dog's Victoria in the next 2 weeks so if you have decided on a name let me know and we can get it printed on the official pedigree paper.

I hope that you have enjoyed the videos of the puppies walking and playing with Bonnie this week... I do apologise for the late post but at least it was done just before Cinderalla hour !

July 13th, 2025

Five weeks old today our playful fur babies are now much more interactive. Their little tails wag and they enjoy their cuddles. They love to run and play on the grass when it's not raining or blowing a gale. (as you would have seen in the videos ) Bonnie is feeding them less and they are eating 3 little meals a day of Black Hawk, Lamb and Rice...this seems to be agreeable to them so we will continue with this brand. Please don't go and buy this kibble just yet, I will confirm with you next weekend on our Open Day, Saturday, 19th of July. An exact diet sheet will be sent out between weeks 7 and 8 confirming exact quantities, feeding times and a list of veggies that the puppies have tried. The vet has microchipped the puppies and had a quick look over them...he was very pleased. The Registration Form has been forwarded to Dog's Vic to ensure that it is processed and the Pedigree Certificates will arrive before the pups leave us and can be inserted into your information folder. The Vet will return this week for a thorough health check and to vaccinate the pups.

OPEN DAY : Beside meeting/playing with your puppy. You will also view the Certificates and Clearances of the Sire and Dam. I will also be asking you to fill your address and sign in your puppie's microchip form which will then be registered with Central Records. I will also ask you to complete the Sales Agreement which will be filled in with your details and your pup's microchip number...please make sure that you have looked over the Sales Agreement that was sent through on the original offer email.

No street shoes or bare feet will be allowed into the puppy area so please bring a clean pair of over socks to wear in with the pups...the pine chips stick to things so perhaps a bag to put these socks in for your trip home, might be a good idea.

And lastly don't forget to bring a robust toy to leave with us to get the familiar smells of the puppy house to take home with you as a comfort... it's a great idea to get family members to sleep with the toy this week... great to introduce your scents to the pups.

If you would like a copy of all the website photos published and unpublished please bring a USB along to leave with me and I will load and put in your information folder for PickUp Day

We are looking forward to seeing you next weekend !

JULY 20th, 2025

Six weeks old today the puppies' weights range between 4.7 and 5.1 kilos They are now on 3 meals a day of soaked BLACK HAWK :  Lamb and Rice for large breed puppies with lactose free milk and have had some small pieces of pumpkin and are doing really well.  Bonnie is down to one feed and will be finished feeding the puppies in the coming week.

It was a lovely to meet all the families yesterday despite the windy conditions. The puppies all love their new toys and Glenyarra loves all the puppy families...we know our babies will be cared for and loved for many years to come.

A short post today but some wonderful photos to share with you... thankyou all for coming

JULY 27th, 2025

Our puppies are 7 weeks  old today. Cooper, Rex and Nellie are settled on three meals a day and as Bonnie went home last week are not having any Mum milk. The pups have enjoyed the extra veggies introduced this week especially my home grown pumpkin which is a wonderful vegetable for  bowel health in puppies and humans!

Our puppies are now weighing in within the normal weight range for their age...I think all the outside exercise on the grass has helped the slow walkers to develop those muscles that they were slow to use in earlier days with their little overweight bodies and they are full of beans! Rex has weighed in at 5.96 kilos and Nellie at 5.75 and Cooper at 5.45 kilos.

I have sent out an email with some interesting articles to read : Basic Commands for training Puppies, Mouthing/Biting, Object Guarding. They are just suggestions and may not suit your style but please give them a read before discarding. Many owners have asked about Dog Parks/ Off leash areas...I am not a fan at all...I have too many tales of attacks and fights from families over the years...if all dog owners trained their dogs with 'RECALL' as I know you will do it would be safer. I have used the recall training here on the farm to protect  the girls from snakes.

Puppies can be socialised easily with a little planning and organization to have supervised play dates... not a dog park where many owners stand back and have a chat letting their dogs play unsupervised.

All the pups have had their 6 week health check and vaccination...this documentation  will be included in your information folder next week. Pedigree Certificates have arrived from Dog's Victoria and will be in your folder with a copy of their microchip form that will have been registered with Central Records in your name before pickup next Sunday, July 3rd.

The 8 week worming tablet will also be included in your folder and I would like you to pop into his/her food on the same day that you arrive home please. Don't forget an old towel to travel home with and I will see you bright and early next Sunday...the count down is on !
